    New York City

    M $85.00/NM $95.00

Join us for an Autumn day in New York City, with stops at The New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx and The Cloisters Museum in Manhattan.

    THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN

The New York Botanical Garden is a grand museum of living plant collections arranged in gardens and landscapes across 250 acres of its National Historic Landmark site in New York City’s Bronx borough.  Two outstanding special exhibits are featured.

KIKU – The Art of Japanese Chrysanthemums, is a traditional Japanese art of meticulously cultivated chrysanthemums never before seen on this scale outside Japan.  These traditional techniques have been developed at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden in Tokyo since the 1880s and are on display throughout the conservatory and courtyard gardens.

MOORE IN AMERICA – Henry Moore is one of the world’s best known 20th century sculptors.  The New York Botanical Garden is host to the largest outdoor exhibition of 20 major pieces which will be positioned throughout the Garden’s 250 acres.  A Tram ride will be available for viewing the sculpture.  After lunch on your own in either of the Garden’s two casual dining cafes, the bus will leave for The Cloisters Museum.

    THE CLOISTERS MUSEUM

The Cloisters, a branch of the Metropolitan Museum, is devoted to the architecture and art of medieval Europe.  The Cloisters is located in northern Manhattan on a hilltop overlooking the Hudson River.  Docent guides will lead tours of the permanent collections.

All entrance fees and bus driver gratuity are included.

The bus leaves from the Arts Center promptly at 7:30 AM and returns approximately 7:30 PM.

Payment is due at the time of reservation.

All CAC sponsored bus trips are on luxury motor coaches and include complimentary coffee and donuts before departure. Most trips include beverages and a light snack on the return trip. Reservations are on a first- come first- serve basis and must be accompanied by final payment. Reservations are not refundable, but they are transferable to another party.
